About Countrydesign Sweden, English

Welcome to Countrydesign Sweden!

I am Maria and interior decorations are one of my biggest interests. Most of all I like the coun
try style, shabby chic, french/danish style, well you can call it a lot of things.I love the beautiful white and the sence of a spirit in the old worn things. I can spend hours just wondering about who the person was that put all their soul into creating these wonderful embroideries that I tend to fall in love with. This art and the work that has been put in to it must not be waisted. This gives me a lot of inspiration to save what can be saved.

A positiv thing with this style, besides the beautiful white and the old charm, is that it enables re-use and up-cycling. With the bleak reality about our invironment in mind, I want to incourage taking care of
 materials and things that are still viable. Many of the things that was made once, were made to last and they are of higher quality than the corresponding items made today.
I therefore strive to re-use old materials as far as possible and I want to incourage others to do the same. By doing so we can spare the invironment and a lot of fine, old things can brighten our homes again.

I'm going to post all different kinds of DIY-projects that can inspire others to up-cycling.
Some objects only get a "face-lift", while others become totally new things.
Besides re-use ideas I will post some tips and tricks that can be handy when crafting.

Since another big passion in my life is baking and cooking, you'll also find recipes on this page.
The invironmental thinking will apear here too. Some recipies will be markt: Little more than left overs.
These are recipies that enables you to waste less food by taking care of the food that was left from previous meals.

You might wonder if it is possible to make something out of the cup of cooked pasta that you have? or the small portion of Bolognese? or even the left over cooked vegetables?
Of course you can. You can make new dishes that doesn't taste at all like reheated left overs.

Since I have put my time and effort into finding use for the left overs, I have reduced my large family's impact on our environment and in the end that has saved us a lot of money which now can be spent on other things.

If you have any questions or any thoughts about the things I post, please feel free to contact me.

Blessed be
//Maria
Ps. I will try to write as much as possible in both Swedish and English but I'm afraid that not everything will be translated. If you see a post that is not translated that is of interest for you,
